Only four months after the success of her latest Hallmark Channel movie, former The Young and the Restless star Hunter King is about to reunite with the network that brought her start in daytime.
Fit for a King
When the season 7 finale of CBS’ The Neighborhood airs this spring, look out for a familiar face from Genoa City. Deadline reports that King (ex-Summer) will appear as Bellamy in the season finale episode that doubles as a pilot for a potential spinoff.
Planned for the 2025-2026 season, this spinoff would also star Justin Long as Bruce, Kara Royster as Matisse, and Angelique Cabral as Lisa, as well as The Neighborhood stars Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney reprising their characters. Cabral previously starred alongside King on the 2015 sitcom Life In Pieces.
King took to Instagram to announce the good news herself, starting with, “Crying, screaming, throwing up.” She went on to write, “Thank you to @kaplanaaron and @cbstv for this amazing opportunity! This cast is unbelievable and I feel so lucky to get to act alongside of them. AHHH someone pinch me!”
Summer Days
This is far from the first time King has appeared on CBS. From 2012-2022, the actress starred as Summer on Y&R before leaving the soap to pursue Hallmark Channel movies. With five romcoms under her belt, King’s latest, Holiday Touchdown: A Chief’s Love Story – read Soap Hub’s review of the holiday romcom – premiered in November 2024 and gained national attention for its take on the Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce romance.
