On the October 22 episode of The Young and the Restless, Billy was definitely wondering how Adam ended up being the one to deliver Billy and Sally’s baby — and why Billy didn’t find out until after the fact. Billy may be clueless about most things going on around him, but we’re with him on this one. There are at least three things Adam could have done to reach him before Ruby’s birth.
Key Takeaways
- Hotels still have landlines.
- Staff carry cell phones.
- Hotels are full of other people… with cell phones.
Could Adam Have Used Another Hotel Room’s Landline to Reach Billy?
We realize that everyone lives on their phones these days, but, believe it or not, hotels still have landlines. You can use them to call other rooms. And the kitchen. And the front desk. The front desk pretty much has access to everyone, especially in the middle of a huge party like, say, a wedding.
We know, we know, Sally (Courtney Hope) said, their phone didn’t have a dial tone. But how about their next-door neighbors? On either side?
Why Didn’t Adam Knock on Doors and Ask Someone for Help?
Sally said that Adam (Mark Grossman) yelled into the hallway, and nobody answered. Yeah, people who stay in hotels tend to ignore hallway noise. There are always drunks and general loud talkers wandering around. But did Adam consider knocking on some doors? It’s much harder to ignore a knock, especially if you also happen to be yelling, “Emergency!” And even if these folks had a non-working landline, too, they’d still have phones.
Oh, Adam and Sally don’t have Billy’s number memorized? (Young people today…) There is still the option to call the front desk. And ask them to track down Billy (Jason Thompson).
Hotel Staff Could Have Helped Adam Find Billy Before Ruby’s Birth
Also, usually in hotel hallways? Staff. Maids, bellhops, food delivery. They have fresh towels, luggage to deliver, room service… and also their own personal phones.
And if they don’t, they can run down the stairs to the concierge. So many options… how hard did Adam try, really?
