Hot on the news that Mal Young is out at The Young and the Restless and Josh Griffith is the new head writer comes word about who will be taking over as executive producer!
According to Daytime Confidential sources, longtime supervising producer Anthony Morina will be taking over as executive producer of the number-one-rated soap, while Griffith will be handling the head writing duties.
If Morina’s name sounds familiar, his wife, Sally Sussman Morina, was recently in charge of the head writing duties at Y&R back in 2016 and was responsible for the initial paring of Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks).
No word yet as to whether she’ll be making a return to the writing team but anything’s possible.
In the meantime, her husband has plenty of history with Y&R, having been in his most recent position since 2008 and part of the directing team since 2004. He was also a director on several other daytime soaps prior to that.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
