It’s been said that Jack is a character who best stands alone on The Young and the Restless (YR). But no man is an island. Jack’s been married in the past, granted not successfully, but what marriage on soaps does work?

Soap Hub asked Y&R fans if it’s time that Jack (Peter Bergman) to find love again. Read on for the results!

Chapter Two
The majority of you believe that, yes, it’s time for Jack to find romance once more. Nearly 80% of you want Jack to find love. Let’s take a brief look at his past romances and see which ones were the most successful.

He should probably never date Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) again for one simple reason: she’ll always pass him over for Victor (Eric Braeden). Jill’s (Jess Walton) another candidate, but their dynamic was usually about sex. They’re better off as unlikely allies, who know each other very well.

Diane (last played by Maura West), alas, has gone to that great soap in the sky and Patty (Stacy Haiduk) is mentally unstable. As far as Jack’s past loves go, there aren’t that many viable candidates.

Alone Again, Naturally
The rest of you, just over 20%, feel that Jack shouldn’t find love again. He’s got his hands full taking care of his mother, Dina (Marla Adams), who’s battling Alzheimer’s. And when he’s not doing that he is fighting Ashley (Eileen Davidson) for control of Jabot Cosmetics.

What do you think? Post a comment!

And if Jack ever gets any spare time, perhaps he should work on his relationships with his two estranged sons, the often-recast Kyle (Lachlan Buchanan), and the seldom-referenced Keemo (Philip Moon).

Something To Buzz About
Perhaps Jack’s next love interest is already living in Genoa City. He’s already formed a business alliance with Hilary (Mishael Morgan). Maybe they should see if there could be more to their dynamic?

Hilary’s struck out in her romances with Neil (Kristoff St. John), Devon (Bryton James), and Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood). Maybe she and Jack could become Genoa City’s next power couple?

The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
