It looks like The Young and the Restless (YR) might lose one of its most popular stars.
According to TV Source, Mishael Morgan (Hilary) could be leaving the show if the actress and show don’t hash out a new contract.
The piece says rumor has it that Hilary, now pregnant with Devon’s (Bryton James) child, would be written out via a car crash.
Morgan joined the show in June 2013 as a mystery woman. Viewers learned that her late mother, Rose, had known Neil (Kristoff St. John) during a time when they were both battling alcoholism. Hilary blamed Neil for her mother’s death.
Later, Hilary entered romances and marriages with both Neil and Devon, the latter becoming the couple most people were rooting for to survive.
Despite their split, the characters decided to have a baby together. After calling it off and then deciding again to go through with it, Hilary became pregnant. She and Devon have agreed to co-parent the child, but are not 100% back together romantically.
Of course, fans would love to see them ultimately reunite. However, if Morgan exits the show that reunion may never happen. The show could either recast or write the character off if indeed Morgan ends up exiting.
Morgan received a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series earlier this year.
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
