As soon as he found out he’d committed and repressed a crime as an 11-year-old boy on The Young and the Restless, Adam took it as implicit permission to be as bad as he wants to be. First, he blamed everyone – mostly Victor – for keeping this secret from him, and then he decided to lean into his new Bad Seed identity.

He chased away Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), he cut his ties with the Newmans, he plotted on his computer… and then he kidnapped the previous self-proclaimed love of his life and locked her up.

The Young and the Restless Polling

Eleven-year-old Adam was horrified. Older – and with better cheekbones – Adam (Mark Grossman) made excuses to his hallucinated self. Has he finally gone over the edge? What almost 5,000 of you think:

Bad To the Bone

This is the worst thing he’s ever done, 85% of the audience sighs. He killed that loan shark as a little boy to protect his mother. He killed Delia by accident. He switched out Victor’s (Eric Braeden) pills because he… is a terrible human being.

But kidnapping Chelsea… what’s up with that? She is Connor’s (Judah Mackey) mother. He can’t keep her stashed in a grimy room indefinitely. Eventually, Adam is going to have to do… something. And, right now, that something seems like nothing good.

Nothing New

Why is anybody surprised, a smaller 15% wonder? This is Adam 101. As soon as he feels he’s been backed into a corner, he does something completely ridiculous. Remember when he stole newborn Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) from Sharon and passed her off as Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) daughter? Remember how he kidnapped Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson)? How he tried to take Christian from Nick (Joshua Morrow).

Adam never thinks through his actions. He does, then hopes everything will work out fine. This is just more of the same. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
