A Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free Card For Lily On The Young and the Restless?

Lily was sentenced to a year behind bars, but will The Young and the Restless be able to last that long without their Cane and Lily, aka “Lane” happily together?

There’s already an online campaign to get Lily sprung from the big house and as far as viewers are concerned, Lily getting back to her family can’t happen soon enough!

Lily’s (Christel Khalil) sentence for her role in the death of Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and her unborn child has separated her from Cane (Daniel Goddard) and their children, Mattie (Lexi Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Gerry Alexander).

She could have gotten 20 years but a last-minute plea from Devon (Bryton James) got the judge to likely lessen the sentence.

While being off-screen in jail makes it easier for Khalil, who recently switched to recurring status, to go out on auditions for other roles, fans would love to see Lily home and walking free.

On soaps, characters aren’t typically in prison for very long. When Nick (Joshua Morrow) was incarcerated for the attempted murder of Matt Clark (Eddie Cibrian), he was released quick.

Conversely, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) went to jail for almost raping Christine (Lauralee Bell) and was gone for four (!) years!

However, if Lily were to get out early for good behavior and was reunited with her family in time for the holidays towards the end of the year, fans would rejoice.

Soaps are famous for “Christmas Miracle” stories, and while it’s technically still summer, we’re hoping that Lily — and viewers who want her home — will get the holiday gift of her freedom!

In the meantime, her TV hubby, Goddard, has joined the online campaign to get Lily sprung, using the hashtag #FreeLilyAshby.

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
