Ever since he joined The Young and the Restless in 2018, Michael Mealor has been a fan favorite. He managed to grow bad boy Kyle into a suave sophisticated young adult and the viewers are loving his sweet relationship with Lola Rosales.

But while the fans feel like they really know and understand Kyle, Mealor is still a mystery to them. Now they can get the inside scoop about their favorite new actor with these five fast facts.

Leap Year Baby
Mealor was born on February 29 so every year that there was no such date on the calendar he got to celebrate TWO birthdays. His mom would throw a little special party on February 28th and his dad would follow suit on March 1st.

What A Face
Mealor was noticed by a modeling scout as he entered a gym and was encouraged to travel to Florida where a talent search was being held. Upon returning home, Mealor signed with the famous Wilhelmina modeling agency.

Early Roles
Mealor found himself pigeonholed in his first few acting assignments when he played “Frat Guy” on Chasing Life and “Fratty Dude” on Supergirl. Another early role was Michael in the creature feature Indigenous that also stared future BB actor Pierson Fode.

Athletic Guru
It’s probably no surprise that Mealor is a fitness freak and he remembers that when acting gigs were few and far between he paid the bills by teaching SoulCycle classes at his local gym.

He taught as many as 14 classes a week and he admits the strain was a bit much at times. But there was a big silver lining. It was during one of those classes that he met his current girlfriend, Britt.

Long Hard Road
Fans may think that Mealor scored the role of Kyle Abbott after one solid audition but they would be dead wrong. Mealor actually had to audition once a week for six weeks before he got the call telling him that he would be playing Jack’s youngest son. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
