Soap fans may have to explore other platforms, as they are called, in order to keep watching both The Young And The Restless and The Bold And The Beautiful. There’s a conflict between CBS and providers DirecTV and ATT Uverse that could cause viewers to miss out on their favorite soaps.
Variety reports that ATT’s satellite and cable services may no longer carry CBS if a new deal can’t be agreed upon shortly. In fact, the deadline is (gulp!) fast-approaching!
“CBS has reached timely, fair agreements with hundreds of other cable, satellite, telco, and internet providers to carry our industry-leading, fan-favorite programming,” CBS said in a statement.
“CBS would like to avoid being dropped, but unless an agreement is reached, our viewers should be prepared for DirecTV and AT&T U-verse TV to remove CBS-owned television stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta, Tampa, Seattle, Detroit, Minneapolis, Miami, Denver, Sacramento, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore at 11:00 PM, PT on July 19,” CBS added.
And, now, Emmy-winner Eric Braeden (Victor, YR) is letting fans know there’s something they can do about the situation! He’s urging you to make a call to let their voice be heard!
“Attention: @DIRECTV @directvnow @Uverse may drop CBS from your lineup!” Braeden posted. “To keep watching the #1 daytime drama, The Young and the Restless, call 855-5 KEEP CBS or go to KeepCBS #keepcbs.”
Should there be a disruption in service, fans can go to CBS.com to view CBS programming including YR and BB.
Hopefully, the situation is resolved soon. Soap Hub will keep viewers updated as details become available! The Young And The Restless and The Bold And The Beautiful air weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
