Soap fans haven’t seen a couple squabble like Scott and Abby do on The Young and the Restless in quite some time. The romantic tension is pretty strong. But while their words may be saying “no, no, no” — are their eyes saying “yes, yes, yes?”
The Moonlighting-like duo can’t seem to be in the same room with one other without picking each other apart. Soap Hub asked you if you think they really hate each other. Read on for the results!
A Man And A Woman
A large majority of you, 85%, think that Abby and Scott’s banter is masking a mutual attraction. The two have been using playful put-downs with one another pretty much since they met.
She’s poked fun at his profession (journalism), and he’s scoffed at both her fashion choices (the star-spangled bathing suit on July 4th) and her misguided past as the “Naked Heiress.”
What makes the relationship sparkle is that Abby and Scott’s portrayers, Melissa Ordway and Daniel Hall, are careful never to have their characters be too nasty to one another.

Abby will act infuriated by Scott but it’s in that “Oh, I really like him!” way. He’ll smile like a satisfied (cool) cat when he knows he’s gotten to her. You don’t behave that way with someone you don’t like.
Not So Fast
A small but vocal number of you, 15%, believe that you can only take someone at their word. You see that there’s a genuine dislike between the two and that takes the form of “banter.” Plus, Scott’s dating Sharon and appears truly committed to their blossoming relationship.
Abby (while it’s far from the best choice) has opted to hang out with Zack. Time will tell if these two put aside their differences and start communicating with each other differently. Though we have to admit their banter is very entertaining!
