Nate and Victoria’s relationship is still on solid ground on The Young and the Restless. Although Victoria lied about her knowledge of Victor’s kidnapping of Lily, Nate forgave her. But did she deserve Nate’s forgiveness?

Key Takeaways

  • Victoria was aware of Victor’s kidnapping plot involving Nate’s cousin Lily.
  • Lily’s disappearance caused concern with Nate and Devon.
  • Although Nate was angry, he forgave Victoria.

Another Newman Gets Off Scot-Free

Victor (Eric Braeden) has been pulling heinous stunts in his quest to regain control of Newman Enterprises. One of his stunts involved a fake kidnapping plot with Lily (Christel Khalil). Victor planned to use the ruse to get Cane (Billy Flynn) to give back NE.

Unfortunately, Victor’s stunt backfired thanks to Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). Then, when Lily returned, the truth about her disappearance came to light. Not only did Lily agree to go along with Victor’s plan, but Victoria also knew and supported her father’s plan.

Nate was upset to learn of Lily’s deception and Victoria’s lies. However, after some time and thought, Nate seems ready to forgive and forget.

On the May 27 episode, during a talk with Devon (Bryton James), Nate mentioned he’s forgiven Victoria for her part in Lily’s kidnapping. Nate’s forgiveness of Victoria is shocking since he’s all about honesty. It’s one of the reasons he dumped his ex-girlfriend, Audra (Zuleyka Silver).

Victoria, suffering no consequences, has riled up fans. On a soap opera forum, many people felt Nate was too easy on his girlfriend.

“Regardless of what they do, the Newmans are forgiven. Why couldn’t he forgive Audra? I actually liked them together,” wrote one fan.

“I just don’t understand Nate at all. Victoria must really mean a lot to him because he didn’t hold anything against her,” one viewer replied.

Nate’s Hypocrisy

Like many other Genoa City characters, Nate’s shown his hypocrisy. Fans think it’s unfair that he couldn’t forgive Audra for her betrayal but easily forgives Victoria.

Although Audra and Victoria’s situations are different, they both lied to him. The one difference is that Audra showed remorse for her actions. But Victoria lied about having no knowledge of the father’s plan, even though she supported him.

Nate finally learned that Victoria lied to him, but instead of being angry, he turned a blind eye. Nate’s love and commitment are undoubtedly strong if he’s willing to overlook her and her family’s deception. But will his loyalty remain if and when Victoria betrays him again?
