The Young and the Restless actress Courtney Hope is normally a private person. However, the star is opening up about her battle with endometriosis, a condition that impacts millions of women.

Key Takeaways

  • Hope underwent surgery to remove endometriosis lesions.
  • The actress said it took years to finally get a diagnosis for endometriosis.
  • Hope isn’t the only star to discuss her battle with endometriosis.

‘Years of Suffering’

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue grows outside the uterus, resulting in chronic pelvic pain and painful menstrual periods. Many celebrities, including Bindi Irwin, Julianne Hough, and Y&R’s Lily Brooks O’Briant (Lucy), have been open about their battles with endometriosis. Now, Y&R star Courtney Hope is sharing details about her diagnosis.

On an Instagram story, Hope revealed that she underwent endometriosis surgery. The actress posted a photo of herself post-surgery and discussed her painful journey. “Endometriosis excision surgery. Endometriosis, adenomyosis, and PMOS are NO JOKE,” she began her post.

Hope revealed it took her “34 years and multiple gynos” before she was finally diagnosed. “Now, two years later, I am recovering after my surgery to remove it all. Finding lesions all over my left ovary (with an endometriosis inside), my fallopian tube, the entire backside of my uterus, and my colon. Plus, my left ovary was completely attached/stuck to my intestines from it.”

Although the procedure was painful, Hope is keeping a positive attitude. “I’m so grateful to have answers and to be on the road to recovery and proper treatment.”

The actress went on to encourage women to prioritize their health. “Advocate for yourself if you believe you may have endo, adeno, or PMOS! Intense pain, exhaustion, inflammation, cysts, and bleeding aren’t normal.”

Soap Stars With Endometriosis

Hope isn’t the only soap actress who’s been diagnosed with endometriosis. O’Briant has been open about her struggles with endometriosis and even made a documentary to raise awareness.

General Hospital star Kate Mansi, who was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2015, has been a supporter of the cause. In March 2026, the actress directed a poignant episode in which Molly (Kristen Vaganos) explained her battle with endometriosis to Cody (Josh Kelly).

Hope now joins O’Briant and Mansi in advocating for endometriosis awareness. Although Hope is a private person, she felt compelled to share her story. “I normally don’t share health updates, but if I had known sooner what to look for, I could have potentially saved myself years of suffering.”
