Doug Davidson was longest running cast member on The Young and the Restless… until he was unceremoniously let go earlier this year.
Paul is still in Genoa City. Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) still calls him, and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Sharon (Sharon Case), and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) still periodically give lip-service to coming clean and telling him everything about what happened with JT (Thad Luckinbill).
Heck, he and Christine (Lauralee Bell) are presumably still married! They’re just both keeping a low profile.

Paul grilling Nikki and Victoria was much more effective than Rey doing it. Nikki and Paul share a child! That child is Victoria’s brother and Sharon’s ex-husband!
Paul is also Lauren’s (Tracy Bregman) ex, which adds friction to any scene he shared with her and Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc). Plus, there is Paul’s very, very complicated history with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), which trends a wee bit homicidal.

Which One Is He, Again?
For 19% of the audience, however, Paul was just the old timer who showed up to arrest random people, look at them sternly… then prove unable to keep them in jail.
How many times has Victor (Eric Braeden) gotten the best of him? Even Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) is now a criminal mastermind!
Romantically, Paul has’t had a story in years. On soaps, if you’re not in love, and you’re a member of the law, your job is to play cuckold… on the back burner. Paul wasn’t doing all that much before, so you don’t really miss him now.
