The Newmans are about to say goodbye to another family member on The Young and the Restless. Lucas Adams, who plays Noah, is set to exit the show, marking the end of his brief return. Although Noah’s upcoming departure will be upsetting for the Newmans, it doesn’t come as a surprise to fans since Noah’s return was a disappointment.
Key Takeaways
- Lucas Adams took over the role of Noah in November 2025.
- Adams’ departure will take place on the August 3rd episode.
- Noah’s return started with a bang, but soon lost momentum.
Was Noah’s Return a Failure From The Start?
When Adams joined Y&R last year as the new Noah, fans were ecstatic. With the Days of Our Lives actor on board, there was hope for a good, decent storyline for Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow).
Noah’s return started out filled with mystery and suspense. The young Newman was in a car accident in Los Angeles, which led to the shocking return of notorious villain Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). But from there, Noah’s return fell flat.
One thing that didn’t help was Noah’s relationship with Sienna (Tamara Braun). Their relationship was cringeworthy, especially since Braun and Adams played mother and son on DAYS.
Noah and Sienna lacked chemistry and seemed too forced. Despite the fan criticism, the show kept the pair together and tried to make them the hot, new couple. Yet, it just wasn’t clicking.
Y&R had the potential to fix Noah’s love life by reuniting him with Audra (Zuleyka Silver). Adams and Silver had sizzling chemistry; you could see the spark between Audra and Noah in their scenes.
Having Noah fall back in love with Audra would’ve made for excellent storytelling. Noah, being torn between two women and afraid of having his heart broken by Audra again, would’ve given him more depth.
Although a reunion was foreshadowed, it unfortunately didn’t come to fruition and never will. Noah’s upcoming departure will shut the door on a Naudra reunion. Something that might’ve helped Noah’s return.
Doing Better By Noah
Noah is a legacy character and the son of popular supercouple Shick. There’s been many actors who played the role, including General Hospital’s Rory Gibson.
While Y&R does a good job with the casting for Noah, the problem is his storylines. Whenever Noah returns, it’s a big deal at first, then he gets backburnered.
During Noah’s 2021 return, there was a lot of potential because of his relationship with Allie (Kelsey Wang). The couple could’ve become Y&R’s Romeo and Juliet with their romance creating more friction between the Newmans and the Abbotts. Yet, the show never explored that route, and instead sent the couple off to Europe.
Noah’s most recent return with Adams continues to show that Y&R doesn’t know what to do with the character. Perhaps, if and when Noah returns, the show will have a decent plan for him.
