The Young and the Restless has seen many returns this year. But along with the arrivals also come the departures. Noah and Sienna are two characters who’ve decided to leave Genoa City, and more may follow in their footsteps.

Key Takeaways

  • Audra might seek a new, exciting opportunity elsewhere.
  • Matt’s redemption arc could end soon.
  • The Winters family reunion could be cut short by Holden’s departure.

New Opportunities For Audra

Whether fans love her or hate her, there’s no denying that Audra (Zuleyka Silver) keeps things interesting. The scheming businesswoman loves to create drama for others, even if it comes at her expense.

Audra is one of Genoa City’s top power players, and she’s making moves with her friend/business partner Sally (Courtney Hope). However, when it comes to her personal life, she’s been directionless since her breakup with Nate (Sean Dominic). It looked like Audra could pursue Kyle (Michael Mealor) or reunite with Noah (Lucas Adams), but those storylines never went anywhere.

Audra needs a storyline rather than being a supportive character. If Audra can’t find love and success in Genoa City, she might leave for greener pastures.

Matt’s Time Is Up

Matt’s (Roger Howarth) return has shaken up the Newmans. Mr. Clark was back to his old tricks by terrorizing Nick (Joshua Morrow), Sharon (Sharon Case), and Noah. His quest for revenge had him committing many horrendous deeds, including attempted murder.

But now, Matt’s had a change of heart. A bout of amnesia and saving Nick’s life has the villain turning over a new leaf. Thanks to Victor’s (Eric Braeden) generosity, he has a second chance.

Howarth has been a good addition to Y&R, and fans have loved his performances as the dastardly Matt. However, Matt’s redemption arc is generating negative feedback among viewers.

Although Genoa City is in need of a villain, some fans feel he’s overstayed his welcome. Matt reverting to his old ways could bring some excitement, while also setting up a potential exit. Perhaps Matt’s crimes finally catch up to him when he’s arrested or becomes the victim in a murder mystery.

Holden’s Heartbreak Leads to Departure

Holden (Nathan Owens) has certainly made himself comfortable since his 2025 arrival in Genoa City. The former imposter has a new career and a new lady love in Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).

He also found out he’s a member of one of Genoa City’s core families, the Winters. Earlier this year, Holden’s mother, Stephanie (Vivica A. Fox), revealed that his biological father is Malcolm (Shemar Moore). Since then, Holden’s been getting acquainted with his new family.

Now that Holden’s put down roots in Genoa City, one wouldn’t expect him to leave. However, that could change, especially with a possible shake up in his love life.

Although he and Claire are doing well, their relationship might be tested because of Kyle and Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Claire’s fury over Kyle and Victoria’s burgeoning relationship could lead to her unresolved feelings for Kyle.

With Claire still in love with Kyle, this will break Holden’s heart. In a spur-of-the-moment decision, Mr. Novak could leave town to heal his broken heart and give Claire time to choose what she wants.
