Good news for fans of The Young and the Restless (YR)! Emmy-winner Beth Maitland is once again reprising her role as Traci on the top-rated CBS soap opera!
The actress broke the news by posting a photo on herself at the CBS Television Studios in Hollywood.
The Jeanne Cooper Connection
Maitland, who made her Y&R debut on 1982, will be using a very special dressing room during her return stay. As you can see in the below photo — it’s 41C, the one that belonged to the late Jeanne Cooper (ex-Katherine).
How Traci’s Return Will Affect Genoa City
No word yet on what brings Traci back to town, but her presence on the canvas is always welcome.

She’s the glue of the Abbott clan and is probably one of the only characters on the show who can wag her finger at Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and live to tell about it!
Also, Traci is the godmother to Lily’s twins, Mattie and Charlie. (Lily asked Traci to accept the honorary role in honor of Lily’s late pal Colleen, who was Traci’s daughter.) These two are facing angst of their own in light of their parents’ troubles and the news that they’re due for a new half -sibling!
As far as when Traci will be back on the air, Y&R tapes approximately 4 to 6 weeks ahead so we could see Maitland on screen either in late September or early October.
