Adam showed his family loyalty by helping Nick with Matt on The Young and the Restless. While Nick was the one in charge of their plan, recent events have left him incapacitated. Now, it’s up to Adam to take matters into his own hands.

Key Takeaways

  • Adam agreed to go with Nick to Vegas to track down Matt.
  • During their trip, Adam noticed Nick’s drug addiction has worsened.
  • Matt continues to outsmart The Newmans and put them in danger.
  • With Nick unable to think clearly, Adam is forced to take charge.

Protecting His Family

Vegas has been a turning point in Adam (Mark Grossman) and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) relationship. Upon discovering Matt (Roger Howarth) was in cahoots with his former gambling partner, Riza (Tina Casciani), Adam offered his assistance to Nick.

The brothers’ quest to bring Matt to justice has been met with one obstacle after another. Most of their problems stem from Nick’s ongoing painkiller addiction. Their rescue of Sharon (Sharon Case) and Noah (Lucas Adams) took a scary turn after Nick collapsed.

As the trio helped Nick, danger was looming with Matt nearby ready to detonate a bomb. Luckily, Newman’s security team arrived in time to save everyone before the explosion occurred. But this recent incident might have given Adam a wake up call.

After almost losing his brother and his own life, Adam realizes just how dire the situation is. Between Nick’s addiction and Matt once again on the lose, it’s time for someone else to step up. And that person is Adam.

How Will Nick and Adam’s Relationship Change?

Adam’s main focus right now is getting Nick the help he needs. Adam feels guilty for Nick’s collapse since he’s the one who told Nick to take the fatal dose of pills.

Nick being the stubborn guy he is, will insist he’s fine and doesn’t need treatment. But Adam’s not the type to give up.

Nick’s addiction not only almost cost him his life, but also put his family in danger. Adam knows a thing or two about being on a slippery slope, and it only leads to more pain. He doesn’t want Nick on the same path, and will insist on his brother getting help whether he wants it or not.

Aside from dealing with Nick’s addiction, Adam also has to deal with Matt. Mr. Clark once again pulled a fast one on them, and Adam’s furious. Since everyone else has failed to take down Matt, it might be Adam who finally takes the villain down.

Adam taking charge will surprise Nick. The brothers haven’t always gotten along, and Adam’s been accused of being selfish and not caring about the family. But Adam’s shown his protectiveness of his family during the Vegas trip.

Nick’s attitude toward Adam might change, leading him to have respect for his brother. With Nick and Adam’s relationship possibly changing for the better, Adam may no longer be the black sheep of the Newman family.
