While all of the Abbott siblings on The Young and the Restless (YR) were born in Genoa City, one of these actors playing them was born in an exotic location — Cuba! Can you guess which one?
Daytime Emmy-winning actress Beth Maitland plays the heart of the Abbott family — Traci. She adds class and warmth to every scene that she’s in whenever she’s onscreen. The popular and beloved actress was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, so it wasn’t her.
Jason Thompson, the newest actor to join the tight-knit group of Abbotts hailed from General Hospital, where he played Patrick Drake for several years before taking over the popular role of John Abbott’s youngest from Billy Miller (who ironically is now at GH).
While the actor wasn’t born in the United States, he wasn’t born in Cuba. He hails from Alberta, Canada.
Daytime Emmy-winning actress Eileen Davidson first joined Y&R as Ashley back in 1984, playing John Abbott’s oldest daughter — until it was revealed that her biological father was Brent Davis, tossing Ashely into a tailspin.
Davidson has also been a huge hit with multiple characters on Days of Our Lives and as Kelly on the now-defunct soap Santa Barbara. She was actually born close to that soap’s setting — in Artesia, California. So that leaves just one more possibility.
Peter Bergman, who portrays Jack Abbott, the de facto patriarch of the family even if he isn’t actually John Abbott’s biological son, has won three Daytime Emmy awards and has been beloved by fans since he first appeared on All My Children as Cliff Warner.
The actor was also born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba — the son of Walter Bergman, a United States Navy officer.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
