Bill Spencer only dropped his son Liam off in Rome in June on The Bold and the Beautiful, but Don Diamont, Bill’s portrayer, made sure he got to see Italy in real-life! The fan favorite and wife Cindy Ambuehl recently traveled to the country where B&B is extremely popular.
Don Diamont: That’s Amore!
“Santa Monica today! Roma tomorrow!” Diamont posted on Instagram in early July, teasing his trip to Italy. Upon arriving in Rome, Diamont didn’t immediately check out all the tourist spots. Instead, the athletic actor checked out his dwelling’s gym to ensure he could indulge in some fine dining by burning off some calories.
“Hard cardio in the gym,” Diamont posted. “Then a long walk with [Cindy Ambuehl].” The actor rhetorically asked himself, “Why Diamont??? You’re on vacation! YEAH…I’m on vacation…IN ITALY!!! NON STOP EATING PEOPLE. Already hit my home away from home restaurant last night, Hosteria da Pietro! Then @hotelderussie for breakfast. @crazypizza.rome for lunch. Incredible!!! And we’re just getting started…😋🇮🇹❤️.”
When in Rome…Eat!
“[Cindy] and I had a wide range of culinary delights our first day and a half in Palermo!” Diamont shared in a follow-up post. “An afternoon of intestines, snails, and a spleen and lung sandwich! Definitely raised the bar with an outstanding dinner along with our friends at [Villa Igiea] 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. So happy to see [Alessandra Tripoli] and [Luca Urso] [Ballando con le stelle]. We had a great lunch today [LeBarrique Monreale] 👍🏼😋.”
“Another incredible Sicilian day,” Ambuehl posted. “[LE CALETTE BEACH]!! A must-see beach club that’s too beautiful to explain!! Then, off in our little blue Fiat to have a private cooking class by the one and only [Sciurca Sicilian Chef]. He is the most amazing chef!!! Fresh from his garden, we made a meal together at his lovely home. So special!! So fun!!!!! ❤️ [Favorite Daughter]. [Simona Timpanaro].”
Don Diamont: Singing Sensation
At one point, Diamont and Ambuehl were being entertained by an accordion player who was playing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” (played in The Wizard of Oz). Diamont couldn’t help but pop into the background and provide vocals to the tune. “Somewhere over the rainbow…is a Village idiot,” playfully teased Ambuehl. Diamont quipped: “We’re taking our act on the road! Run! Don’t walk to Ticketmaster!!!😂.”

“Huge thanks and appreciation to ‼️SIMONA‼️ for designing a wonderful experience for us!!!” Diamont raved about the next leg of his trip, “it was highlighted by our visit to The Mother’s of Motta Camastra! These wonderful women from this village of about 450 people taught us how to make pasta from scratch, and cooked us an incredible dinner. It was quite a turnout for our arrival, and we had a blast with these delightful people!
“What a party!” Diamont continued. “WHAT BEAUTIFUL SOULS! Thanks to the musicians, and everyone who put in so much effort to make it such a special night! ALSO, Motta Camastra was used as the establishing shot for the village of Corleone, where Michael Corleone ❤️Al Pacino ❤️ had to go for his safety, after killing the cop and the drug dealer. The Godfather and Godfather 2 are my favorite movies of all time, so I had to do my ode to that establishing shot! SO FUN!!!!😂❤️🇮🇹.
Don Diamont: The Fun Continues
“What a magnificent day at the one and only [La Fontelina Capri] 😎❤️‼️” Diamont shared. “Loved hanging with my brother from another mother, [Glenn Rotner], his beautiful wife [Dorit Rotner], along with the whole Rotner clan! ❤️Then Cindy Ambuehl [ex-Kim] and I headed to [Il Riccio Restaurant & Beach Club] for an incredible dinner at a stunning location. Thanks to everyone at Il Riccio for taking such great care of us🙏🏻.”
The fun continued as Diamont and Ambuehl spent some time on the water. “Thanks to [Sorrento Experience] for an incredibly fun day on the Mediterranean and an outstanding lunch @concadelsogno,” The actor wrote, “[Cindy] and I had a blast that evening with [Glenn Rotner], [Dorit Rotner] and family celebrating [Maddison Rotner]‘s birthday [Taverna Anema e Core Capri]! Roman legendary, artisan shirt maker, and my hero, Dario (Dan Roma) Mandatori made Cindy’s beautiful blouse by hand! We love you guys! Until we meet again…❤️.”
