Katherine Kelly Lang has been playing Brooke on The Bold and the Beautiful since 1987. For the past three decades, Lang and her character have become icons in the soap opera industry. And it’s been a rewarding experience for the actress.
Loving Her Work
When Lang first stepped into the role, she had no idea she’d still be in the role 38 years later. As one of the original actors left, she and her character remain an important part of the show.
Whether she’s a vixen or a heroine, Brooke keeps things interesting on B&B. She’s come a long way from the valley girl that fans first saw back in 1987. She’s become a prominent member of the Forrester family and their company, Forrester Creations. However, she’s also caused them plenty of scandals.
While some soap stars leave their iconic roles, Lang loves her character. In an interview with Numero, the actress opened up about the rewarding part of playing Brooke.
“I am so grateful for the loyal fans that have watched for so many years. Without them, we wouldn’t be here,” Lang said. “Coming to work almost every day and being able to do what I love and what I am passionate about is a great blessing. Not every actor in Hollywood, or anywhere else in the world for that matter, has that opportunity. Brooke is never boring. She may make some mistakes sometimes, but that’s what makes it exciting to watch. She’s not a bad person. Her intentions are always good.”
Lang has definitely put in the work here lately with the drama in Brooke’s life. Brooke’s relationship with her daughter Hope (Annika Noelle) may be shattered forever because of the FC takeover. Plus, her relationship with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) appears to also be over now that he’s chose to stay with Taylor (Rebecca Budig).
