On The Bold and the Beautiful, Thomas and Hope’s breakup and Sheila’s death (or “death”) are topics the characters continue to discuss, debate, and act disgusted over. In the Tuesday, April 2nd episode, some of the action and the dialogue raised questions we simply have to ask.

The Five Questions

Question #1

Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn’s marriage is currently in a strange place. They are close and spend time together, yet their relationship keeps taking one hit after another. First, Finn (Tanner Novlan) said he felt a connection with Sheila (Kimberlin Brown). Then, Steffy (supposedly) killed Sheila in self-defense, leaving her to struggle with taking a person’s life while Finn struggled with Sheila’s death, period. (Find out what happens the rest of the week in this B&B Weekly Update)

A minute ago, Steffy and Finn debated the finer points of the Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and Hope (Annika Noelle) breakup when Deacon (Sean Kanan) called and added Sheila’s memorial service into the mix.

Question: Steffy says she doesn’t want her marriage to be fragile. Is Steffy on the right track here? However, is her marriage to Finn already fragile?

Question #2

Liam (Scott Clifton) and Hope are suddenly all chummy and while it’s clear he’s happy Thomas left town, he’s listening to Hope vent. And their co-parenting skills seem on point, too. Liam and Hope made plans that are Beth-centric, but they are plans nonetheless. It’s been a while since these two conversed in a non-frustrated way. Meanwhile, he hasn’t visited Steffy. He hasn’t been going on and on about Steffy. He’s traveling in a Steffy-free zone right now and it’s odd.

Question: So, has Liam decided to put a pause on his chasing after Steffy? Is he waiting for Steffy and Finn’s marriage to implode? Or is he really moving on?

Question #3

Steffy recently experienced a big win when Thomas broke up with Hope and left for Paris with Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri). Then Steffy confronted Hope at Forrester, where she landed verbal punches that threatened to knock Hope down for the count. But the last thing Hope said to her was she’d make Steffy regret her interference.

Deacon called Hope to ask for her support at Sheila’s memorial service, which he’s throwing. Hope looked like she wanted nothing to do with the event. That is until Deacon mentioned asking Finn to attend as well. For one brief moment, it felt like Hope changed her mind. (Discover which B&B alum is returning to the show in Comings and Goings here)

Question: Did she perk up when Deacon mentioned Finn? Do you think Hope would take advantage of Finn’s presence at the memorial service to start her revenge agenda against Steffy?

Question #4

No one can blame Steffy for not wanting Finn to attend Sheila’s memorial service. She talked to her husband about how they both are struggling over his birth mom’s death. Steffy’s still angsting over having taken a person’s life. As for Finn, he really thinks he had a connection with Sheila. In no uncertain terms, she told Finn she didn’t want him to go.

Question: Does Steffy have the right to demand Finn stay home from the memorial service? Should Finn listen to her? Should he expect a negative effect on their marriage, or should he attend?

Question #5

Towards the end of the episode, Finn flashed back to the one or two “good” times he had with Sheila. He also remembered his reaction to her death, including his putting her hand in the blood splatter where she died. (Tanner Novlan talks Liam, Steffy, and Finn here)

Question: Sheila’s death clearly still affects Finn. But have those nightmares and daymares disappeared? Is he still haunted by Sheila’s death or is he simply at the point where that part of his grief is over? Does she no longer haunt him?

Bonus Question: The Logan sisters — Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Katie (Heather Tom), and Donna (Jennifer Gareis) — are they of one hive mind at this point? They seem to be on the same page at all times.
