Day two of The Bold and the Beautiful‘s instant memorial service for Sheila Carter featured Finn’s eulogy. The Thursday, April 4th episode featured Deacon’s impromptu memorial service. While Deacon gave Sheila a better send-off than she deserved, Finn’s eulogy was more complicated. Lauren’s could have been so much longer.

Finn’s Eulogy

The entire memorial service happened on the back patio at Il Giardino, where customers normally sit and enjoy drinks and meals. For one day only, the tables were replaced with chairs (too many) for mourners. And, of course, Sheila’s coffin. (Soap Hub asks if Finn attending Sheila’s memorial service betrays their marriage here)

Only Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Hope (Annika Noelle) were there to listen to Finn’s (Tanner Novlan) eulogy. The doctor started innocently enough, simply reflecting on how he learned Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) was his birth mom (which should have been a big red flag right there).

You showed up at my wedding and introduced yourself as my birth mother. And, yeah, that was one of the happiest moments that I had known. To get to finally meet the woman that I had dreamed about and connect with you and…hearing you call me your son.

Quickly, the eulogy pivoted into the pain, horror, and nightmare of what it’s like to know Sheila Carter. Finn expressed his inner conflict over being at the memorial service in the first place. (Guess who’s returning to B&B? Find out in Comings and Goings)

But then in an instant, you turned my life upside down. You shot me, you shot my wife which was I…I have no idea what I’m doing here.

This next part of Finn’s eulogy was arguably the best portion of his monologue. At least he was self-aware enough to know Sheila wasn’t mother material, at least not to him.

Because Sheila wasn’t a mother to me.

Unfortunately, Finn’s speech took another turn and ended in an unexpected, and frankly, unwanted way.

But um…yeah, she did…she did give me life. And there must be something innate in me, something that defies logic to have any reason to feel anything for you. But I do. Mom, I do.

But he does? What is he talking about? He’s often talked about a connection but…he actually feels something for Sheila? How did this happen?

Lauren’s Short, Bittersweet Eulogy

Well, to make (most) of us feel better, let Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) tell the truth about Sheila. Her history with the nurse-turned supervillain is legendary. We wish she had had more time to say everything she ever wanted about Sheila Carter. However, this unofficial, bittersweet eulogy was everything (plus, the show featured flashbacks of Lauren and Sheila’s greatest hits).

The blackmail, all the times she tried to kill me, or the time she tried to drown me in a hot tub. Sheila was a menace. She was dangerous. You never knew what she was going to do next. Thank god Steffy finally ended her once and for all.
