Liam wants Hope to work for Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful. He pitched the idea to his wife in the Wednesday, April 29, episode. But Liam’s bid came with some strong words about Steffy. He referred to her and Ridge’s reign at the fashion firm as tyranny. And he’s tired of seeing Hope get the shaft.

However, in business, what Liam is doing is called poaching. Steffy doesn’t love that Hope for the Future is a Forrester brand. But she’s likely to hate Liam interfering in her company’s affairs. The two exes tend to stay out of each other’s business decisions. Liam crossing that boundary is liable to upset their personal relationship.

Steam could be the next relationship to be jettisoned for the fashion feud storyline. This would make room for a new status quo for the pair, putting them on opposite sides of a deepening war between their families.

Key Takeaways

  • The business-focused and personal reasons behind Liam’s pitch
  • Why Steffy and Liam could be at odds over Hope jumping ship
  • How this change could impact Steam’s friendship

Hope Moving to Logan Makes Good Business Sense

Liam (Scott Clifton) is responding to Logan’s needs. Its first collection is a hit. But Katie (Heather Tom) mentioned that members of the press are calling her a one-hit wonder. Eric (John McCook) left, so she doesn’t have a lead designer.

The hunt for one is on. But Liam believes that in the interim, Logan can put its resources into Hope (Annika Noelle). As an established figure in the fashion world, Hope working for Logan means the company wouldn’t be starting from scratch.

While she’s not a designer, she is a brand ambassador. Hope also happens to have a brother eager to build his credibility in the industry. Deke (Harrison Cone) is the person she could turn to for a lead designer.

The buzz around the duo may spark the kind of curiosity that Eric’s work did for Logan. As it does, Katie could focus on taking the time she needs to bring another big name to her company. Of course, that’ll depend on whether Hope says yes to Liam.

He’s been party to the back-and-forth over HFTF at Forrester. This storyline has so far side-stepped Hope stealing their company to reframe her as a victim of Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) decisions.

But the point still stands that Hope’s brand has been on a roller-coaster ever since Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) left. It’s been either back-burned, shelved, or canceled entirely over the years. Primarily due to the line’s financial struggles, but there’s been personal retaliation mixed in as well.

This time, Steffy’s putting production on hold so FC can focus on Eric. Though Zende (Delon de Metz) and Thomas completed designs, she felt resources should be redirected to couture. This sidelined HFTF.

Liam sees his Logan offer as a way to secure Hope’s position. But it’ll also mean going up against Steffy in the realm of business, which isn’t something the pair has traditionally done. They’ve successfully kept their work life out of their personal bond, but it looks like that’s coming to an end.

Could Steffy and Liam Clash Over Hope?

Typically, whenever Steam has fought, it has been over matters of the heart. Together, they were a power couple, especially in the years when Liam was an executive at Forrester Creations. They don’t fight about work. Now they likely will be. Not because Steffy has any care for HFTF outside of profit margins, but because of Liam’s poaching.

Despite Eric being fairly compensated for his designs, the Forresters believe Logan stole from him. Katie has credited him. The collection is even named after him, but they don’t believe Logan has a right to it. Hope leaving Forrester to work at Logan could be seen as yet another bit of theft by Katie’s company. And while that’s a stretch, it’s not too far from the mark when it comes to branding.

As leading figures in their families’ companies, Steffy and Liam are now in competition with one another. They both have to do what’s best for their businesses. That’s going to introduce tension into their relationship. And that could start with Liam’s first salvo across the bow, convincing Hope to come to Logan. Forrester would keep her brand and her messaging, but they would no longer have HFTF’s spokesperson. Without her, that line doesn’t move.

From Liam’s perspective, Steffy thinks little of Hope’s contributions, so it shouldn’t matter. But from Steffy’s perspective, it could appear to be yet another move from the Spencers that feels like an attack on her family. B&B viewers know how protective the co-CEO is when it comes to her loved ones. Liam could end up lighting a fire in her that he can’t put out with a conversation.

If that happens, this simmering feud between their families will only get worse. Steffy Forrester on the warpath is a sight to behold. We’ll have to see if Liam can keep up with her if the time comes.
