Ironically, Canadian-born Jennifer Finnigan came to the United States to find work as an actress, which she did when she played Bridget on The Bold and the Beautiful. Now, she’s returning to her home country to film the next season of Salvation, the CBS primetime drama she headlines.
Soap Hub caught up with Finnigan at the Hallmark Channel’s winter TV critics press party to get the scoop on season two!
“I’m excited about going to Vancouver,” Finnigan says. “It’s closer to Los Angeles and there’s no time difference. Johnny (Silverman, Finnigan’s husband) and I have the baby now (daughter Ella Jack) so the whole family will move up there.”
Business will bring Silverman back to L.A. as needed, but Finnigan says, “He wants to be with his daughter as much as possible.”
How will Finnigan juggle playing the lead in a series with motherhood?
“I start [working on] Monday[s] at 5am and end up [finishing sometimes on] Friday[s] at 3am. We’ll need to figure out the logistics. We’ll make it work.”
Salvation fans recall the season one finale which left Grace Barrows, Finnigan’s character, and others in a bunker as missiles were pointed at Washington D.C.
Production on season two, which will likely air this summer, hasn’t started yet so Finnigan can’t say much about what’s going to happen. However, she teases characters will be “investigating the war within rather than battling problems from the outside.”
Fans can also count on more intrigue, geopolitical drama, and romance.
“I’ve got to say I’m such a nerd about the show,” Finnigan says with a chuckle. “I love it so much!”
The three-time Emmy-winner says she stays in touch with B&B pals including Maeve Quinlan (ex-Megan) and others. In fact, she recently met show newcomer Annika Noelle (Hope). “I told her I delivered you in a cabin,” Finnigan says with a smile.
The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
