Soap opera fans are the most loyal of all television genres but even viewers have their limits. Or do they? Is there something that would make YOU stop watching?
There has to be something that can make a viewer turn away and we have found two reasons some soap fans have. Soap Hub wondered which would be worse — your favorite soap star leaves the show or your favorite character gets a horrible story you couldn’t bear to watch.
Leaving The Show
After over 4,000 votes were tallied, 60% proclaimed that your favorite actor leaving would be the worst thing to happen to your soap. Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful weren’t happy when Pierson Fodé (Thomas) left.
He returned briefly — but it was only for a short time to help the show write off another actor, Courtney Hope (Sally), who many are sad to lose.
Ditto General Hospital fans when Steve Burton (Jason) left — but thankfully all is right with the world now that he’s back!

If Not On The Page…
The other 40% thinks the worst thing is when your favorite character gets saddled with a horrible storyline. Certainly, some Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Marci Miller) fans have made it clear they are not happy that their faves are going through a hard time thanks to Abigail and her multiple personalities.
The Young and the Restless JT (Thad Luckinbill) ofans are devastated that their favorite has been turned into an abuser. Sure, they knew Luckinbill’s return was only for a few months, but his character was always heroic! He never would lift a finger to harm the woman he loves, who at the moment is Victoria (Amelia Heinle).
