There have been some incredible soap opera heroines over the years – women you root for to win despite impossible odds.

There were women like Laura, Nikki, Brooke, Marlena, etc. But what about today’s crop of young heroines — Soap Hub asked who your current favorite is, and your answer was reasonably clear.

Long Live the Underdog
It looks like 51% believe Mariah (Camryn Grimes) from The Young and the Restless (YR) is tops. She has had a hard life and taken some pretty public hits – mostly at Hilary’s doing. Now, she has a wonderful man showing her some attention and you hope it lasts! She deserves only the best!

The Comeback Kid
Still, 21% think Maxie (Kirsten Storms) from General Hospital (GH) is the best of the current crop. After all, she’s got spunk, she’s got flair – she’s got ever-changing hair! She also has a hunky police officer for a husband, the cutest little girl, and you can’t help but hope she gets to keep it all.

Staying Power
She was so important that death couldn’t even keep her say 20% of Abigail (Marci Miller) from Days of Our Lives (DOOL). Yeah, sure, she wasn’t really near death since she was the one who faked it but that shows she has initiative!

She also refuses to play second fiddle to anyone and you admire that! Now, if she could just get back with Chad….

Up and Coming
Meanwhile 7% believe that Nicole (Reign Edwards) from The Bold and the Beautiful has shown that she’s the one who deserves the top crown.

She stood her ground with her cheating ex, but when he finally proved he was worthy, she was able to move forward. In the end, she got a fairytale wedding – and the guy of her dreams!
