Today, soap fans know Don Diamont as Bill (aka “Dollar Bill”) Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). But for many viewers, he’ll always be Brad Carlton on The Young and the Restless (YR), the role Diamont played for decades.

Bad Boy Brad
Y&R hired Diamont to play shirtless gardener Brad Carlton in 1986 after his gig as Carlos Forenza wrapped up on Days of Our Lives. Brad traded shears for suits, becoming a successful exec at Jabot.
He wed Traci (twice), had a fling with Lauren, was held in a cage by his deranged ex-wife Lisa, and inherited a truckload of cash from the late Cassandra.
Brad ended up romancing all the top leading ladies of Y&R including Nikki, Ashley, and Sharon. Not long after telling Traci that she was the one who got away, Brad died after saving Noah Newman from drowning in an icy lake.
Even though he no longer plays the part, an impressive 43% of you say that Brad is your favorite character.

“Dollar” Bill Makes Sense
Soon after Diamont exited Y&R, B&B scooped up the popular actor to play the never-referred to before character of Bill Spencer, Jr., the son of publishing magnate Bill Spencer, Sr. (played by original cast member Jim Storm).
Bill (just like Brad) loves women and has been paired with many of the show’s leading ladies — Brooke, Quinn, Katie, and Steffy.
Diamont plays Bill as a man who values money, success, and his family — perhaps in that order! A recent fallout with son Liam has cost Bill his business and his marriage. Now, he’s a man with little to lose, so he could become even more ruthless!
Still, the actor is a fan favorite because he plays Bill so passionately and with such conviction. That’s why 57% of you voted Bill Spencer, Jr. as your favorite Diamont character!
