Every summer in Florida, there is a fundraiser that gives fans incredible access to their favorite soap stars and raises money for a wonderful cause.
It’s called Samantha’s Friends and will partner with Southeastern Guide Dogs for the special day.
This year it will be incorporating a Mardi Gras theme, which is sure to kick up the fun factor, with such notable soap stars as Eric Martsolf (Brady), Kyle Lowder (Rex), and Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) from Days of Our Lives.
Joining them will be former DAYS actor Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Dario), who currently stars on The Young and the Restless as Rey. Patrika Darbo (Shirley) from The Bold and the Beautiful will also be joining her former DAYS stars, where she played Chloe’s (Nadia Bjorlin) mom, Nancy, for many years.
Rounding out the group will be another former DAYS star who is currently voicing the lead character in the animated show, Star Wars Resistance — Christopher Sean (ex-Paul) — which is sure to thrill fans after he was a huge hit at last year’s Samantha’s Friends.
The day is filled with a delicious brunch — you may even be sitting at a table with one of the soap stars — as well as a show that the actors put on as they help out with an auction (there’s also a silent one where you can bid on all sorts of goodies), announce prizes, and so much more.
General Admission for the Sunday, July 21 event is $100, with VIP tickets going for $200. The fun begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 2:30 p.m. with plenty of opportunities to meet the stars and take pictures with them.
Samantha’s Friends is a non-profit set up to help those challenged by disabilities such as autism, stroke, combat injuries, and other catastrophic illnesses gain independence and companionship with the help of a service canine.
