A soap opera pregnancy can give double the pleasure when there turns out to be double the offspring. At least that seems to be the thinking on many shows.
Sometimes it’s a vehicle for an actor to play a dual role, but this isn’t always the case. Either way, the story possibilities are often compelling or fun, and can open things up a lot for the show. Here are several examples of double the fun siblings.
Days of Our Lives
Roman and Marlena (Deidre Hall) were very much in love, so it was an incredible day when Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Sami (Alison Sweeney) were born.
Yet these two couldn’t be more different! Eric grew up to become a priest, and Sami should have had a permanent seat in the confessional thanks to all of her scheming ways.

Not everyone realizes that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is a twin. When the actress was cast on All My Children, she played Alex – Anna’s twin.
The two characters are quite different but wouldn’t it be great to see Alex show up in Port Charles – that would certainly confuse a lot of people.
