So much happens on a soap opera that only the strongest survive. There are a handful of women who have been forced to endure so much that overcoming all life (and the writers) have thrown them should be celebrated. Soap Hub celebrates four such women.
The Young and the Restless
Love her or hate her, you can’t say that Sharon (Sharon Case) hasn’t survived what would destroy most women. While still a young mother, she had to bear the most horrific thing imaginable and bury her daughter.
She was told her daughter had died but instead she was stolen from her and the man who did it then romanced her, playing mind games.
Finally she was in a happy marriage but had to say goodbye to the man she loved simply because being with him would put his life in jeopardy. No wonder she’s had a breakdown or two!
General Hospital
There’s little that Laura (Genie Francis) hasn’t experienced–including death! She’s also survived the death of two of her children (one multiple times and the other came back to life too).
She’s killed before, jumped out of airplanes, escaped wicked curses from a madwoman, and saved the world. But she also had to the end of her marriage to the man she loved and spent most of her life with — and has found a way to move on and love again.
Days of Our Lives
It’s hard to even comprehend all that Hope (Kristian Alfonso) has suffered at the hands of Stefano DiMera, never mind other random criminals.

From brainwashing and disappearing over a vat of acid, to being held hostage numerous times, Hope has seen it all and persevered. But perhaps the worst below of all was having the love of her life, Bo, die in her arms.
She survived his death and managed to fall in love again. Nothing will keep this Horton down!
The Bold and the Beautiful
Oh Brooke. From mental breakdowns, miscarriages, and rape to thinking she lost the love of her life, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) has had to overcome so much in her life.
She survived a fall off the Eifel Tower, dealings with the craziest woman of all time, Sheila Carter, and countless fights with Stephanie Forrester.
Through it all, she has managed to raise her children and become a successful businesswoman. Will she survive being torn between two men once again? Only time will tell.
