The soap opera ratings race for the week ending Aug. 11 show another week of mixed numbers for your favorite shows.

It’s been that kind of year on daytime as good weeks turn to bad weeks and vice versa, showing no real ratings trend.

The Young and the Restless
Last week, The Young and the Restless (YR) was down, but this week it’s up again, pulling in 4,244,000 viewers on average overall, up 10,000 from the week before, but still down a whopping 198,000 from the year before.

There was more good news for Y&R, as it made gains from the week before in all three female demographics.

The Bold and the Beautiful
Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) also saw better numbers than the previous week, but not the previous year. It pulled in 3,381,000 viewers on average overall, up 60,000 from the year before, but down a staggering 354,000 from the year before.

However, B&B also made gains in all three key female demos.

General Hospital
General Hospital (GH) had another disappointing week, garnering 2,479,000 viewers on average over all, down 47,000 from the previous week and 46,000 from the previous year.

Thankfully, it did make gains from the week before with women 18-34.

Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives (DOOL), which seemed to be on an uptick, may have been fooling us last week. The soap pulled in 2,009,000 viewers overall, down 45,000 from the week before.

There is no information available for DAYS for the year before either overall or in the three female demos, where it lost viewers all around from the prior week.
