The soap opera ratings race for the week ending February 23 shows daytime dramas on the rise as all four soaps see dramatic gains.

Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives (DOOL), which was just renewed for a 54th season last week, was the only soap to see gains from both the previous week and year.

DAYS garnered 2,329,000 viewers on average overall, up 49,000 from the week before and 189,000 from the year before.

However, in the three coveted female demographics, DAYS only made gains with women 18-34, up 18,000 from the prior year.

General Hospital
General Hospital remained in third place overall, but saw the most gains from the previous week. It pulled in 2,654,000 viewers on average overall, up 226,000 from the prior week, yet down 26,000 from the prior year.

GH also remained at number two with women 18-49 and 18-34, making modest gains from the previous week.

The Young and the Restless
After a few slow weeks, the number-one-rated The Young and the Restless (YR) saw its numbers rise from the previous week. Y&R garnered 4,271,000 viewers on average overall, up 117,000 from the week before, yet down 237,000 from the same time last year.

Y&R also made gains from the previous week in all three female demographics.

The Bold and the Beautiful
Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) pulled in 3,460,000 viewers on average overall, up 163,000 from the week before, yet down 277,000 from the year before.

B&B made gains from the previous week in all three female demos, yet only ranked at number two with women 25-54, as GH seems to have taken over its second place spot on a semi-regular basis.
