After a week when daytime numbers seemed to be coming out of the doldrums, it was another dour week in the soap opera ratings race for the week ending June 2.

It seems the only soap to make any overall gains was General Hospital (GH).

General Hospital
GH remained in third place, pulling in 2,553,000 viewers overall, up 91,000 from the week before, but still down a considerable 245,000 from the year before.

While it moved up the rankings to second place with women 18-49, it still lost 1,000 viewers in that demo from the previous week. Other soaps just lost more.

The Young and the Restless
Number-one-rated The Young and the Restless (YR) garnered 4,163,000 viewers overall, down 123,000 from the week before and another whopping 599,000 from the year before. In terms of viewing households, Y&R tied its record low.

The Bold and the Beautiful
Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) was ranked second once again, pulling in 3,201,000 viewers on average overall, down 236,000 from the previous week and a staggering 532,000 from the previous year.

B&B also lost viewers from the week before and year before in all three female key demographics.

Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) remained in last place, but didn’t falter as much as the CBS soaps. It garnered 2,081,000 average viewers overall, down 18,000 from the previous week and 12,000 from the same time last year.

In fact, DAYS made gains from the week before with women 18-49 and 25-54.
