On a soap opera, we root for our favorite heroine to overcome tragedy, fall in love, have children, and overcome any obstacle that gets in her way. We feel her pain, her sorrow, her joy, and fear for her life when she faces danger.
Each soap has such a heroine and many have been on their shows for decades. To that end, Soap Hub asked who is your favorite all time soap opera heroine?
Laura
A majority of 52% chose Laura (Genie Francis) from General Hospital (GH) as their favorite. You were shocked when she murdered David Hamilton, rooted for her young love story with Scotty, and were mesmerized by her love story with Luke.
She’s been through the mill, having suffered a mental breakdown, a divorce, the loss of a child (a couple of times) to see her come through it all and get her life back on track. You can’t wait to see her next adventure.
Marlena
A solid 28% chose Marlena (Deidre Hall) from Days of Our Lives (DOOL) as your all-time favorite heroine. You’ve seen her blown up, possessed, kidnapped too many times to even count, and fall in love. You’ve rooted for her every step of the way.
You admire Doc’s strength, her capacity to love and forgive, and for being the level head so badly needed in Salem.

Still 10% felt former stripper turned society dame, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) on The Young and the Restless (YR), deserved top honors. She’s has been able to handle Victor all these years and you know that’s not easy.

Another 7% broke away from the crowd and didn’t agree with the choices. You wrote in your favorite, like Carly and Anna on GH, Nicole from DAYS, and of course – Erica Kane
Brooke
Meanwhile 3% wanted to honor Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) from The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). You don’t care that she changes her romantic loyalty with the way the wind blows. You think she’s awesome any way you slice it.
