Last week, our daytime screen tossed us a soap opera salad of combustible situations, outrageous dialogues, and eye-rolling storylines.
Needless to say, the team here at Soap Hub (like many fans) have more than a few sudsy bones to pick – and rave about. Find out now if you felt the same way we did!
General Hospital:
Rave: On Thursday, Jason found out that wife Sam is seriously ill and his portrayer, Billy Miller, gave a multi-layered performance.
We saw his eyes as the words began to sink in and his heart break. It was a small moment — not showy — and it meant so much more.
The performance then took on a whole new level when he learned his infant daughter might be suffering from the same illness and it could affect her throughout life.
The shock and fear of a father and husband was palpable on his face and with his every word.
Rant: So, we are to believe Sam got Toxoplasmosis by just being near Olivia Jerome and some of her cat’s kitty litter (she had a cat, right) rubbed off on Sam.
Because bird food or kitty litter is just about the only way to contract this disease and the only time Liv even touched Sam was to throw her off the bridge, just hours before she gave birth.
The odds of this developing and being passed to the fetus that fast are pretty darn small, and could be even be zero.
The Bold and the Beautiful:
Rave: Eric (John McCook) brought tears to our eyes when he disowned Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). Plus, we actually felt sorry for Ridge, which is highly unusual. That scene was so good while being so incredibly painful.

Rant: Eric, why are you letting Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) manipulate you? It seems truly out of character.
The Young and the Restless:
Rave: The show is slowly building up a friendship between Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) that could end up being more.
Funny, the way they are approaching it is how soaps used to handle all romances — and it’s hooking us!
Rant: Why are Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil) already broke? It seems this pair should’ve had some savings and investments to fall back on for at least a bit. Plus, they have incredibly wealthy family.
Days of Our Lives:
Rave: While it was heartbreaking to watch, we totally get Chad’s (Billy Flynn) pain when he told Abigail (Marci Miller) that if she leaves with Dario (Jordi Vilasuso), she is dead to them — and that this time she should stay dead.
The pain in their eyes was palpable — and heartbreaking.
Rant: It’s great to see some humor again on the show after years of doom and gloom, but the doppelgänger story is already wearing thin…and confusing. What does Marlena being away from John have to do with revenge against Adrienne?
