Patrika Darbo had already amassed numerous acting credits by the time she joined the daytime world in 1999 as Nancy Wesley on Days of Our Lives where she welcomed with open arms. Now, the actress’ fans are embracing her again for another reason!
This is Darbo’s birthday weekend as she was born on April 6. Before landing in Salem, Darbo, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, appeared on such series as Punky Brewster, St. Elsewhere, and she was a series regular on the ABC sitcom Step By Step.
But it was Patrika’s debut as conniving Nancy that put her on the suds map! After years of scheming with husband Craig (Kevin Spirtas) and playing mom to Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), Darbo left Salem.
She returned to soaps when she helped resuscitate the Spectra clan when she created the role of Shirley Spectra, sister of Sally Spectra (the late Darlene Conley) and grandmother to Sally’s namesake, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Darbo stays active in the web series world, playing the role of Mickey on The Bay and the part of Dorothy Nolan on Ladies of the Lake.
The actress won a Prime Time Emmy for her role as Margo on Acting Dead, a web series that takes a satirical look at the world of Hollywood Zombies!
A tireless champion for many charities, Darbo’s lent her name and time to such organizations as St. Baldrick’s Foundation, The Rescue Train, and Pacific Coast Dog Rescue, among others.
