The year didn’t start off well for actress Jensen Buchanan, best known to soap fans as Vicky/Marley on Another World. She was in legal trouble once again after it appeared the terms of her probation following a criminal conviction last year had been violated.
However, the Santa Maria Times reports that Buchanan had not violated her probation so while she’s out of jail once more, her probation continues.
It all began in 2016 when the Emmy-nominated Buchanan reportedly drove onto the wrong side of a highway and struck another driver, who almost died and reportedly has permanent injuries from the ordeal.
Buchanan’s blood alcohol at the time of the crash was 0.34.
After being convicted in 2017 and serving over a month in jail, Buchanan was released and put on probation.
A court-mandated ankle monitor to detect her blood alcohol level reported that hers had risen to 0.18 sometime between December 29, 2018 and January 11, 2018, a violation of her probation.
This led to Buchanan going back to court in January where her lawyers noted to the judge that she had complied with the conditions of her probation even during area fires. But, she was sent back to jail and bail was not allowed until a new hearing was held earlier this month.
On April 6th, Judge James Voysey declared that there was no violation so Buchanan was released from jail and is back on probation.
Buchanan’s first soap role was Sarah Gordon on One Life to Live. She played that role for a few years and then left, joining AW as Vicky/Marley, beating out several contenders for the part including Ellen Wheeler, who originated the roles.
The actress has also been on As the World Turns as Vicky and General Hospital as Melissa.
Her last soap role was Judge Elise Moxley on The Young and the Restless in 2015.
