Rena Sofer’s Incredible “Mother’s” Day Message Will STUN You!

It may have been Mother’s Day, but soap vet Rena Sofer took the time to honor her dad, a man who was a mother for her more than her actual mother ever was.

Sofer shared a tender photo on Instagram of her father during his last days, along with a note paying tribute to his love and contributions to the lives of her and her brothers after their mother made a decision that affected everyone’s lives.

In Sofer’s post, we learn she gave a special place in her life to TV moms, hoping that they could somehow help fill the void in her own life after her mom wasn’t around any longer.

“All my life all I’ve ever dreamed of is to have a mother,” posted Sofer. “While I have tried to find replacements in my life from TV mothers to women authority figures, I always came up short.”

Sofer went on to praise her dad, whom she cared for in his final years, for being there as both father and mother to her and her siblings. Read the rest of her emotional post below.

My mother walked me and my brother to my fathers office, put my hand in his and pushed us towards his open door. She turned around and walked away and never came back. I was just about to turn two years old. All my life all I’ve ever dreamed of is to have a mother. While I have tried to find replacements in my life from TV Mother’s to women authority figures, I always came up short. The one thing I do know about being a mother is that 1- they always have your back!! 2- they love you unconditionally NOMATTER WHAT! 3- They never leave you. I had to make it up as I went along and I was lucky enough to be blessed with three of the most amazing daughters anyone could ever have. What it took me years and years to realize is that the greatest mothering I ever received was from my father. My father gave up everything to be both mother and father to my brother and me. He always had our backs. He loved us unconditionally. And he never left. My father lived with either me or my brother for the last 13 years of his life. In the end I was the lucky one ( well me and my very small family) who got to mother him. We all cared for him until he took his last breath which we were all there for. I am the mother I am today because of him. So while everyone is posting wonderful things about their mothers, I want to honor the mothering I got from the greatest parent anyone could ever have. My father. He was so good, he deserves BOTH Mother’s and Father’s day. #happymothersday #happyfathersday
