Soaps have been around since the early part of the last century but the way we watch our favorite shows has changed over the years.
Now, there are so many different methods to see if Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abby reunite on Days of Our Lives (DOOLS) or if Nikki and Victor (Eric Braeden) will ever put all that’s gone wrong behind them on The Young and the Restless (YR).
Soap Hub asked how you watch your soaps and your choice was crystal clear.
Old Ways Are the Best Ways
After over 5,000 votes were tallied, an overwhelming 91% say you still watch soaps the old fashioned way on your television. You like to grab a snack and sit on the couch to see if Sam (Kelly Monaco) will go completely nuts on Sonny on General Hospital (GH).
It worked for your grandmother, your mother, and it’s good enough for you! It’s so much easier to watch on your big-screen TV than on a phone’s tiny screen or on your laptop and you plan to keep watching that way as long as you can.
About 4% declared it’s better to watch your soaps online. You’re probably great at multitasking, unlike Coco (Courtney Grosbeck) on The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), who thought texting while driving was a great idea.
You, on the other hand, enjoy watching your soap while probably chatting with others about it and the computer makes that easier.
Meanwhile most of the 5% who said that you use neither of those methods, claimed that you watch on the DVR, which is usually hooked up to TV, folks. A smaller percentage, probably GH fans, said they catch their shows on Hulu…which again, is online.
