General Hospital and Days of our Lives have both been nominated for the Daytime Serial award at the TK annual Writers Guild Awards. The two soaps have duked it out before for this honor. The scribes will find out who wins at the 2024 Writers Guild Awards ceremony on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Last year, DAYS took home the Writers Guild of America Award. The show might have been pretty confident of a win, as DAYS was the lone nominee! The Peacock drama is nominated again this year, only this time it’s got competition from GH. (A rep for The Bold and the Beautiful says that the show did not submit scripts this year for WGA Awards consideration.)

What episodes did the shows submit to earn their nominations? At press time, the info for GH was unavailable. DAYS submitted shows dealing with Victor’s (John Aniston) death and memorial and shows that include Dick Van Dyke‘s turn on the program as Timothy, John’s (Drake Hogestyn) father.
