Hits and Misses Breakdown: September 14-18, 2026
Beyond the Gates
HIT: Smitty’s feeling the spotlight…and the heat. BTG has been writing more of Smitty’s perspective. Smitty (Mike Manning) hasn’t just loved nailing the bad guys with his series of articles on The Impaler. He loves the attention, too. There’s more delicious drama on the way. The new Uptown owner, Heather Armstrong (Ashley Jones), is trying to handle her business. As a result, Smitty found himself officially getting interrogated when Jacob (Jibre Hordges) called him down to the station.
MISS: Izaiah and Elon. We love the Hawthornes, and we would like to see one of their famous Sunday dinners someday. So Izaiah (Lami) needs to recognize that his dad is at least trying to strengthen their relationship. One way he could do that is by swallowing his pride and doing his part to meet Elon (Malachi Malik) halfway. And by middle, we clearly mean bringing Eva (Ambyr Michelle) over for those Sunday dinners.
Worth a Mention: Dani (Karla Mosley) may want to silence her phone so Andre (Sean Freeman) can’t tell that Bill’s texting her all the time.

Bold and the Beautiful
MISS: Carter wildly asks Steffy to give up her baby. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and Lawrence Saint-Victor’s performances were intense, emotional, and riveting. But the story itself has, unfortunately, turned Carter into a full-on villain. This week’s scenes were tough to watch, especially when Carter spoke for Steffy and told Daphne (Murielle Hilaire) that she agreed to be her surrogate—all to keep their one-night stand a secret and his friendships intact.

Days of our Lives
HIT: Sydney’s reintroduction. We have been waiting a long time for Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) and EJ’s daughter to return to Salem. Her presence is very welcome. Sydney strikes us as a fun, unpredictable, pot-stirrer type of character. She’s going to keep people on their toes. Sydney Malakeh looks like she’s having fun so far, and it’ll be great to see what the show has in store for her.
MISS: Chad admonishing Cat. Chad (Conner Floyd) going off on Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) for hiding her ISA past seemed a little stale. These two have been over for a while. But since a new actor has been playing Chad, they’ve had to reset some of the character’s behaviors and relationships. For example, he wants nothing to do with EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), when that wasn’t the case all that long ago. The same thing seems to be happening with Cat.
Worth a Mention: Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) were one of the bright spots in all of daytime this week. Philip won the money needed to save his family. And while it may not work out as well as Philip wants, for one glorious moment in time, Philip took a big risk that paid off. It was wonderful to witness. Philip and Gabi made such a great team.

General Hospital
HIT: The Jordan/Brook Lynn conversation. Unlike everybody else in town, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) didn’t unload all over Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) when BLQ showed up to make amends. She didn’t give Brook Lynn a pass, but she didn’t pile on either. Jordan knew that she (herself) caused the accident and that Curtis (Donnell Turner) was in prison because of Curtis. It was nice to hear.
MISS: Jason and Britt’s breakup and the retcon that caused it. The crux of the breakup is that Jason (Steve Burton) couldn’t trust or believe Britt (Kelly Thiebaud). After all, she admitted to knowing about Anna’s kidnapping. He couldn’t trust that she really couldn’t do anything about it. He felt that if she had just said one word to him, he could have taken care of it. Britt’s knowledge of Anna’s captivity was a surprise to everybody, including the audience.
Worth a Mention: Who knows where Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) are headed, but Elizabeth helping Dante chill with yoga and downward dogs was cute and refreshing. Their fun banter was much needed since this week was pretty dark.

Young and the Restless
HIT: Sally enlisted Adam’s help. Anytime Sally (Courtney Hope) and Adam (Mark Grossman) are in the same room, and it’s not a confrontation, it’s a good thing. Sally turning to Adam to help the Abbotts out was unexpected. For once, they needed Newman Media’s help and, thankfully, Adam agreed.
HIT and MISS: Wednesday’s day of romance. It was a great way to break up the dark drama that has been laser-focused on Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk). There were the hijinks of Sally and Billy (Jason Thompson), Victoria (Amelia Heinle) calling the shots with Kyle (Michael Mealor), and Nate’s (Sean Dominic) and Stephanie’s (Vivica A. Fox) dance and romance scenes. Unfortunately, the episode didn’t quite give us the warm, fuzzy feelings we thought it would.
Worth a Mention: Nick (Joshua Morrow) had to explain to Victoria why he didn’t want her to visit him in rehab, even though other family members were allowed to. It was a good, honest conversation that also showed why Nick and Victoria are one of the best brother/sister pairs on daytime.
