Current Days of Our Lives star and former The Bold and the Beautiful star Linsey Godfrey has had more than her fair share of life obstacles and she’s fought her way back and then some. Get ready to be inspired.
The actress took to Instagram to show her workout and explain why putting in work with a trainer is so important to her.
“Please excuse the effort in the upper body.. this was my last set and I was tired but it was my first time doing weighted dips. My trainer Tom used my competitiveness against me by telling me my sweet bestie @kimbpics could do these.”
Not a bad method to try to get the best out of a client — and it certainly seemed to do the trick for Godfrey. But she also had something a bit more serious on her mind.
“I suffer from body dysmorphia. I have suffered from eating disorders in the past and my road to a healthy, strong body has been long. Tom [her trainer] did the best thing ever for me by enforcing the no comparing myself to others rule. He’s taught me that a strong body is WAY better than a skinny body.”
This is wise advice and it’s awesome to see Godfrey embrace it considering she works in an industry that tends to believe thinner is better, being younger is everything, and beauty is on the outside.
She goes against every stereotype and shows just how beautiful she is because of it — especially on the inside.
“I took pride in watching the weights go up in our workouts and extreme pride when my surgeon who took out my plates and pins in December told me I had the hardest bones of any woman he had ever operated on.”
The cancer survivor has been fighting her way back to full strength ever since she was struck by a car as a pedestrian crossing the street back in 2015. She’s had several surgeries
“Weight lifting is amazing for your bones. For the first time in my life, I don’t stand in front of the mirror picking at myself and doing very harmful self-talk. Now I occasionally glance as I walk by, no longer obsessively, and feel confident for the first time.”
Soap Hub congratulates the actress on reaching this important milestone.
