Beloved entertainment icon Betty White has amassed a slew of credits over her lifetime… and fortunately, the soap world gets to call the American treasure one of its own, thanks to her run as Ann on The Bold and the Beautiful!

Today, White is making birthday wishes as she celebrates her 97th birthday!

Born in Oak Park, Illinois, White is perhaps best known for her iconic Emmy-winning roles as man-hungry, witty Sue Ann Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and kind-hearted, ditzy Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls.

Actually, White was a fixture in daytime TV before joining B&B as Stephanie’s (Susan Flannery) complicated mama, Ann Douglas, in 2006. She hosted the short-lived morning game show Just Men!

In 1983, she won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Host or Hostess in a Game or Audience Participation Show. She also appeared often on Password, as the game show hosted by her late husband Allen Ludden.

A devoted pet advocate, White received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmys in 2015.

More recently, White appeared on the 70th Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards and appeared on the series Young and Hungry and Esther’s Fireside Chat.

Last year, she was the subject of the documentary Betty White: First Lady of Television.

Soap Hub joins White’s family, friends, and legion of fans in wishing her a happy birthday!
