Soap opera kisses come in many varieties but the ones that take place on New Year’s Eve can sometimes point to new plots for the following year!
This year, General Hospital (GH) fans will see Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) kissing at midnight, and it will even include a flashback of a previous NYE when the duo did the same thing. So does that mean they’re the couple to watch in 2018? Quite possibly! But they aren’t the only ones.
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) is also pointing to some surprising couplings sharing a smooch on NYE. While sometimes it can mark the start of something new, sometimes a NYE kiss can be just a kiss.
Like a couple of years ago when Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart) did shots and tried to see if there was something there. Oops! There wasn’t! Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful are hoping NYE isn’t when Steffy (Jaqueline MacInnes Wood) gets the kiss-off from Liam (Scott Clifton) for good!

For 32%, you’re a bit picky. You don’t care if it’s just anyone kissing — these special kisses shouldn’t be squandered. You want to see it mean something and not be a throwaway moment.

Then there is the odd 12% who have no interest in NYE kisses on the soaps, which begs the question — why are you watching?
