Hamilton Finn seemed to be a man unto himself until recently on General Hospital (GH). Sure, we knew he was married and he’s on to his third romance (second), but we now we know he has family.
First, Nathan’s replacement at the PCPD, Chase (Josh Swickard), turned out to be Finn’s (Michael Easton) much younger half brother. And now, we know Finn and Chase’s dad is set to arrive in Port Charles.
According to published reports, James Read, who made a daytime name for himself on Days of Our Lives (DOOL) over the last few years has been tapped to play the father of the doctor and the cop.

On DAYS, Read was quite memorable as Clyde Weston, a career criminal who was also an abusive husband and father.
With Robert Scott Wilson returning as Clyde’s son, Ben, this week, DAYS fans wondered if Clyde wasn’t far behind. There’s no word if Read is on recurring or contract with GH, but if he is recurring, he could do both soaps just like Wally Kurth.
There’s definitely a secret in the Finn family that’s keeping the good doctor from bonding with his brother, but now that dear old dad is coming to town, maybe we’ll learn what that secret is.
