Every soap fan has their favorite memory from their favorite show. And even if two soap viewers saw the same scene, the reasons for why it stuck in their respective minds are probably different. Soap watching is that personal and specific.

Almost 4,000 of you shared your special soap moment with us.

You Always Remember Your First Time
For over 61% of you, the memory you hold dearest in your heart is the moment that got you hooked and committed to watching on a daily basis.

Doesn’t matter if it was General Hospital’s Alan (Stuart Damon) trying — and trying and trying; there was a certain Wile E. Coyote quality to it, eventually — to kill his unfaithful wife, Monica (Leslie Charleson), and her lover, Rick.

Or if it was Days Of Our Lives’ Doug (Bill Hayes) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) becoming a couple. Both on and offscreen.

Was it the four Brooks sisters getting together to talk heartbreak on The Young and the Restless? (Yes, Genoa City existed before the Newmans and Abbotts colonized it.)

Or maybe the first time Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) saw Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) on The Bold and the Beautiful? (Do you think either of them ever regret that ill-fated day?)

What do you think? Post a comment!

It doesn’t matter. If it was your first day, then it’s the one you treasure most.

Death Sentence
For 30% of you, though, it’s the tearjerkers that linger. Your favorite character’s death is one you can’t forget. Stephanie’s (Susan Flannery) B&B expiration? Original Roman’s swan dive off a cliff on DAYS? GH’s Duke (either time)? Poor, her life had only begun Cassie (Camryn Grimes) on Y&R? The memories live on….

Majority Minority
Usually, the “Other” category is all over the place. But, this time, of the 8% who wrote in, almost 2/3rds agreed, your favorite soap opera memory is Luke and Laura’s wedding.

It’s not surprising. It’s the most watched soap opera episode of all time.

Even Elizabeth Taylor showed up.

If she hadn’t, the wedding would have never happened! To find out why click here.
