The year 2017 is almost at an end, and 2018 will be here before we know it. With a new year comes the possibility of a fresh start. For you, for the world… and for your favorite soaps.

We asked what you wanted to see once that ball drops in Times Square, and over 13,000 diehard viewers answered!

Stay the Course
Most surprisingly, considering the enthusiastic back and forths in our Comments sections, a majority 55% of you insisted that there was nothing wrong with your soaps, and they should just keep doing what they’re doing — you’re happy to keep watching.

Your biggest fears were that the soaps would be cancelled. That’s not the fans being paranoid. This century isn’t even 20 years old yet, and we’ve already lost All My Children, One Life To Live, As the World Turns, Guiding Light, and Passions (plus Another World bowed out mid-1999).

Cancellation is a looming possibility these days, and that is the only development that will make you stop watching in 2018.

It Gets Better
Better stories in 2018, that’s all we want, cry a less content 43%. The only way to avoid the cancellation bear is to attract more eyeballs to the screen, and the current stories on The Young and the Restless (YR), The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), General Hospital (GH), and Days of Our Lives (DOOL) just aren’t getting the job done!

What do you think? Post a comment!

You Play Writer
So what do you suggest, when it comes to better stories? A brave 2% ventured some ideas, with the most popular ones including Adam returning to Y&R (though probably not played by Justin Hartley, as he’s a little busy on the mega-hit, This Is Us).

Also, getting rid of Dina (Marla Adams) and no Mariah (Camryn Grimes)/Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) hook-up.

For DAYS, fans want to see Bo (Peter Reckell) return, as well as EJ (James Scott), and a new relationship for Rafe (Galen Garing).

What are your suggestions?
