They may try to love their children in the best way they know how — but it often screws them up at best — and gets them killed at worst. They’re soap opera dads, and while they may think they’re doing right by their kids, not all agree with that assessment.
Some get catty and competitive with their kids while others may sleep with their sons’ girlfriends…or wives. It doesn’t mean they don’t love their children. It just means they’re not going to win Father of the Year anytime soon.
Take Victor (Eric Braeden) on The Young and the Restless (YR). He spent a lot of time trying to frame his son, Adam, which ended up getting him killed.
Sonny (Maurice Benard) on General Hospital (GH) runs the mob and because of that, he’s put his children in jeopardy so many times over the years (and for a while, it looked like it was the reason his son Morgan was killed).

On Days of Our Lives (DAYS), Victor (John Aniston) withheld his approval from son Philip, treating him like he was such a screwup, that it drove him to leave town.
Eric (John McCook) on The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) disregarded the feelings of his kids when he married someone they saw as a homicidal maniac. And then he got had a hissy fit and collapsed because they had the nerve to not attend the wedding.
They’re selfish, thoughtless, conniving, and sometimes dangerous — but we love them anyway. But which one is the worst dad? Let us know by voting in the poll.
