It looks like we’ll be seeing even less of Valerie than normal (if we see her at all) on General Hospital, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing Brytni Sarpy on soaps. The popular actress is moving on to Genoa City.
The Young and the Restless isn’t wasting any time getting Sarpy onto the GC canvas. She’s landed the contract role of Elena Dawson, according to Soap Opera Digest, and will begin taping this coming week.
There’s no word yet on Elena’s background and if she’s related to anyone in town, but there’s speculation she could be a love interest for either Devon or Nate, two characters who have been languishing on the romance back burner for months.
(Heck, Nate still hasn’t had a date since arriving in town last year.)
Sarpy made her daytime debut in 2015 as a long lost Spencer nobody had heard of before. As the ‘Fluke’ story came to an end, we learned all about Luke’s parents, how they died, and what Luke and Bobbie’s sister, Pat, did to cover it all up.
We then learned Pat had a daughter, Valerie, who moved to Port Charles after Pat soon died. Since then, Valerie has become a cop, had an affair with cousin-in-law, Dante, and flirted with a same-sex romance with Kristina Corinthos-Davis.
Since Valerie has not been used a lot of late (the last we saw her she was arresting young Cameron for sorta trying to buy marijuana), the character might just fade away. Soap Hub will keep you informed as we learn more about Sarpy’s new YR character — and her old GH character.
