If you thought 2016 tortured your favorite Port Charles pals with too many surprises they certainly didn’t need, 2017 is going to be a doozy. Fortunately, for us that’s a good thing because we get to see lots of twists and turns as the General Hospital year begins.

What’s The Story of Nelle?
The new year starts off great for Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright)–for about a minute. The closeness they shared during the holidays seems promising, but we all know Nelle (Chloe Lanier) is around.

According to the January 2 issue of Soaps In Depth, we start figuring out Nelle’s ultimate plan before Carly and Sonny do, but Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) also starts putting things together and gets an unexpected person involved.

Baby Danger
While the Nelle story plays out, the mystery of who really planted that car bomb continues on with Jason (Billy Miller) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) embroiled in it all.

Of course, Sam’s belly keeps growing and with that baby due soon, the two have to decide how they want to live their lives–that is if everything goes smooth with the remainder of the pregnancy.

Julexis Reunion?
It’s clear Julian (William deVry) has someone pulling his puppet strings, which could be the catalyst that brings him back to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn).

But, according to In Depth, he did a bad, bad thing and Alexis won’t be so forgiving–no matter who made him do it.

Of course, Alexis still hasn’t hit rock bottom (which is surprising considering she ran over Julian with her car while drunk), but there should be a moment when she finally does in early 2017.
